Our dear friend and comrade Allan Armstrong, a founding member of the Heckle editorial board, left behind an enormous library of more than 8,000 books spanning Scottish and international politics, culture and history when he passed away in 2024.
His impressive collection has now been donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), the UK charity which this week has led calls for the release of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, the Palestinian doctor at immediate risk of death in Israeli custody.
On Saturday 1 August and Sunday 2 August, from 11am to 6pm, all 8,000 books will be available on a pay-what-you-can basis from the Intfrobel Publishing shop located at 3 St Peter’s Buildings, Gilmore Place, Edinburgh EH3 9PG (click here for a map).
